We haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, but still I believe I can answer this question are you doing too much? With the confidence of a bold, put-it-in-writing , capital letters YES!!
On reflection, I can’t recall the last time I met someone who wasn’t busy. Who wouldn’t kill for a day where their schedule was clear, their to-do list empty and their energy high. Perhaps it’s my circle? Most probably not.
There are 365 days in a year, if every weekend was spent relaxed and unpressured then you’ve achieved 14% of your year in an optimal state. If you take three weeks leave each year that is directed at getting away it’s less than 6% of your total year. And if you’re lucky enough to combine both then you’ve managed a very modest 20%.
Who is really benefitting from the remaining 80%?
Do your family or loved ones really benefit from the opportunities you work so hard for. Or could they benefit from more visible parenting, from a more present partner. It’s not a question to take lightly and one they should help you to answer. You won’t always get it right, but you should always be aware.
Where energy goes, value flows.
With love, Kristie
